today's thought: .

<< reminisce envision >>

I think the best thing about life is its unpredictability. just today, while commuting to work, i was thinking about some entry a few years back, about the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey, where they had a concept whereby there is a pre-designated pair of lovers made for each other and will eventually find each other. This bond is so strong that if either one dies, the other will also lose the will to live and die.

Just to sidetrack, the other day, studies showed that men are more likely to die within a year after their wives have passed away, and the same effect exists with women, although less pronounced. Perhaps this ties in with the fact that women have longer life expectancies?

Anyhow, imagine there is someone out there who is definitely the one for you. How exciting, or boring, would that be? We would eliminate all the trial and error that we go through, the heartbreaks and the constant "What is love?" questioning. It'll be so much more efficient, but it'll be boring, wouldn't it?

Perhaps the best and the worst thing about life is uncertainty. It keeps you hoping, it keeps you doing things not knowing what will be the outcome, and yet sometimes you just want it confirmed and in the bag.

Oh well. Life is just like that to me. Sometimes the shite happens, sometimes the works happen. Settlers is going to be have some media coverage on Arts Central (finally), and that means that I'll probably have to be on TV. Sucky thing, but I guess I have to try my best and make it work.

eBay is down to a standstill yet again. Good thing is, it's down to a standstill for two reasons, both at roughly the same time. The first is my greed; policy violation, and the second is eBay yet again deciding that allowing MTGO cards aren't worth the fees they generate. eBay, eBay, so rich a source of potential revenue, yet a minefield of policies and issues to skirt.

Job-wise, looks like I'll still be working another job soon. Oh well, perhaps I really have to put in a few years of work before I have enough to strike it out on my own, full-time.

Meanwhile, Cold Rock, anyone? I still believe in the potential of Cold Rock to be a good source of passive income.

While typing this out at work, I'm also watching the Olympics table tennis match, with Singapore standing a good chance to winning a medal for the first time in over 40 years. Nowadays its good life at work; having already tendered your resignation it is easy to just sit back and wait for the end of the day. Of course, that's such a waste of time, and I try to find things to do to fill in these extra leftover times, but on the whole, I'm loving it.
