I think I might have mentioned this before, or at least thought to myself. The only person's whose passing I would mourn, in this world out of everyone whom I did not personally know, would be Bobby Robson. He would be the only person who I truly admired, adored and respected, amongst the multitudes of celebrities and well-known individuals.

In my book, he was the best Newcastle manager to date, in my life at least. I do not know of times before I was born, but Bobby Robson did for Newcastle what few other ever could do. He, not Kevin Keegan, brought to Newcastle an unpredecented period of stability and growth, of prosperity and excitement.

He did so much for the club, and at such an advanced stage of his career, that it is difficult not to marvel at his accomplishments. The fates of Newcastle rise and fall with him; with his ascension to the special place in all Geordies' hearts so did Newcastle rise to new heights; with his departure so did Newcastle seal its own demise.

We all should mourn; we must, for a great person has left us. Someone who truly loved the game, and never let his accomplishments swell his ego. Someone who kept rooted to reality, and laboured on tireless regardless of his personal circumstances.

If I ever wanted got hit by cancer, I would want to be like him. To fight on and on until the fight cannot be continued.

There is little I can say, but so much I can feel about him. He is my personal great, the one whom you just, somehow, admire entirely and totally.

In memory of Bobby Robson. 1933-2009.
