As per my usual trend, I'm blogging once again when things are going well. Maybe it is, as the girlfriend postulated, that working on the late shift is alot more preferable to me compared to being on the morning shift. I don't deny that.First up, the Batam trip. On the whole, it was a good break indeed. While we did not do much (I can conclude that we aren't very active people), I got lots of rest and really charged up my batteries. There was a pretty solid spa, lots of sleep, chunks of good food and just quality time spent with the girl. Which we did bicker quite abit. Most importantly, I think the key is still not to take ourselves too seriously, and overweigh the random superficial arguments in the face of all the good times and company that we have with each other. Been picking up this book on randomness, which is totally revolutionizing the way I see things. I love books like this. The other major book was Rich Dad Poor Dad, which I really liked, because it changed the way I saw things, or rather, improved it. And to me, that is the biggest knowledge I can acquire from a book. Randomness and probability, it is really in fact quite interesting. Will expound on it more in future. Anyhow, things are on a roll now. The stock market has made my remaining two positions in the green, one of which I've always exited and the other planning to (it just shot 30 cents up from my entry price yesterday). Which is just the latest in the string of good luck I've had; I never expected to go up so soon since I thought it was a bad choice. Turns out, it's all random. The major thing that has been tiring me out so far is eBay, have had tons of business. I outsold the month of April in July, and I think I'll record more growth in sales this month again. What's so pleasing is that everything is going up. Sales is going up, inventory is going up, profits are going up, cash is going up, customers are going up. Nothing's going down, and really, that is the best anyone can ask for. Stay up to 4 or 5 am twice this week, which explains me being really tired at work. But its good tired; the ordeal is not going to be over until Saturday or Sunday at the very latest. Tying up a nice yummy deal from a newcomer to the game; these guys really bring in the dough when they have lots to spend and lots to want. Aside from that, got a big batch of auctions ending that I have to attend to, and potentially even more for next week, seeing as to how I have been acquiring new stock at the fastest pace so far this year. With all these, work is just... the usual. Dreary and draggy, it's like as if its something I have to go through everyday to get to the good parts. I really wonder at the incentives of work life. It seems so obscure, any tangible rewards. whatever you to seem to have little effect; you often wonder if whatever you did even matters. While on the other hand, when you are working on your own, your own actions have drastic effects, which in turns motivates you to ensure that you keep it up. Anyhow, I've been cabbing to work all week, and today isn't going to be an exception. Really am quite drained to be commuting to work, and will gladly pay for the convenience, just to reward myself for putting in the extra effort. And the odd Starbucks too, to keep spirits (and eyebrows) up. Lets see where I end up when the current roll ends, and things become more stagnant. I dare say that July and August will be my significant months this year. Enjoying the moment now (while it lasts before the next slide). |
