Back from Perth!

First up, pictures are posted on Facebook, so anyone who is remotely interested can browse through them.

Thoughts about the trip. It was familiar, and peaceful. And boring. The drive from the airport along Tonkin Highway was so familiar, so familiar, it felt that I never left. But the days there were slow, boring and largely devout of interesting activites to do. Plus my top two places to dine at, Samurai and Ciao Italia, were both closed for renovation. How largely disappointing is that!

Anyhow, the days were mostly spent prepping for the photoshoot, taking naps and sleep-ins here and there, and shopping. That's about it. It was really nothing exciting, but it was a good break; up to now I'm still feeling refreshed, if alittle dull. But yeah. I felt bored, and perhaps feeling the lack of internet, but aside from that I didn't feel much like going home. It was like, yeah, I was home, kinda, so I didn't feel like I needed to return anywhere or what not.

So my point was that its kinda good to have a second home. Like when you are weary of your daily routine, there is one place where you are familiar with, comfortable with, yet different enough for you to feel like there is a change of environment, but not enough to make it a stressful trip whereby you are stressed out with having to find places, plan where to go and how to get there.

And just the two of us for 6 days was quite good. We got plenty of time to ourselves, basically just living our own life and doing whatever we like. Well, within reason of course; 20kg worth of snacks and tidbits is stretching it sometimes. And we as usual had our ups and downs, but that's just life. Ultimately, we came back happy, rested, satisfied and lugging a load twice as much as what we brought there.

And I rushed through the Lost Symbol at supersonic speed. I trudged through the first half over the week, and finished the second half on the flight back within a space of 3 hours. More than just a thriller, there was something to chew on; almost as if Dan Brown forcibly wove a message into the book just to pass on something. Perhaps to make it more intellectual, or perhaps merely to make a point. At any rate, the message was something that left me thinking on the plane at 4am in the morning for 30 minutes straight. It was something which makes sense and challenges everything you knew or thought.

Ok, gotta end here so continue again soon!
