today's thought: .

Idleness can kill. It can drive me insane with worry, with doubt, with insecurities and with disatisfaction. So I am still in need of a worthy pursuit, or perhaps the motivation to pursue that which is already apparent. But lets just leave the unhappiness at the door and blog about some more normal stuff. I desperately crave a Kindle like I crave no other in a long long time. I'm just distraught (really!) that it still isn't available in Singapore, although I would think that its because of the wireless connection arrangement. After all, its not gonna be easy to have these arrangements down with local providers. I just boogle at the thought of having free access to Wikipedia at all times; even though you can achieve that with a myriad of other mobile devices, this is somehow still rocks. Its like a Kindle is the source of a multitude of knowledge and information. I hope I'll get one by Christmas. Meanwhile, I just finished Superfreakonomics, which is way better than the first book. I wanted to share my favourite part of the book: (on global warming) "The United States has in recent years sporadically attempted to lower its emissions. But when it leans on China or India to do the same, those countries can hardly be blamed for saying, Hey, you got to free-ride your way to industrial superpowerdom, so why shouldn't we?' Totally exemplifies what I believe about CO2 emission controls. Is global warming really the issue at hand to tackle? Or is this merely additional pressure on the developing nations to curtail their growth? We can only guess at it. Anyhow, I've got two days of leave coming up. Perhaps I'll be able to find something to give me direction and faith in my life again. Said like an emo kid. Damn, how far have I sunk!
